Using Robotics kits as a teaching aid

robotAs technology evolves so do the toys that our kids are playing with, back in the day we used to have simple toys such as dolls or action figures and even lego sets, these days though you are able to purchase ever increasing advanced technology in toys. It’s a bit of a double edged sword because as technology evolves so does the ‘laziness’ factor of kids being able to play, as vide games, pc games and even mobile phones make access to games so easy for kids that they don’t venture out much anymore or they start to become very unsociable in ways. Thankfully there are great ways to teach your kids great learning values in life as well as letting them have great ‘play time’. One of these ways is to get your kid an electronic robotics kit, these would probably apply more to the boys in the family, but who knows, maybe your daughter might find it so much fun she gets involved as well!

robot2For the younger kids in the family it’s important that you get them a non-soldering kit to play with, as this will remove the electrical aspect and ensure they are safe at play. If you have kids who are students already then there are some fantastic advanced robotics kits out there which will help them learn in a practical way with their studies. Schools can even kit out classrooms with these kits which will help the students practically in classes such as computer sciences.

There are multiple companies out there that offer these kits so it’s important you do your research before buying, you can also chat to the teachers at school who may have some contacts for this. One such company is Restech who are based in the UK, they specialise in robotics learning kits for kids, classes, students and universities. They have a great reputation and offer a solid performing kit for very attractive prices. Just browsing through their site you will see the quality on offer and the great testimonials they have, this is clearly a company that cares both about it’s product and customer.

robot3They are a social enterprise so they focus on impact in education and they invest in engaged roboteers who will be the next industry leaders in this field. They have a team of highly experienced and trained professionals who have been working in this field since 2008, through both experience and feedback they continually improve the products and training services, re-investing into training schemes for the companies employees. They have multiple robotics packages available which you can see here you can also read more about them here.

We wish you and your kids all the best in your roboteer adventures and who knows you could be the next Albert Einstein in the field of robotics!
